Updated Info on Child Support
Guidelines Implementation
Georgia's new child support law went into effect on January
1, 2007. Domestic relations mediators need to get training on the new guidelines to be permitted to continue to mediate cases that may
involve child support. The Commission's Committee on Training and Credentials
has endorsed several trainingson the
new child support guidelines as the
minimum requirement for mediators to maintain full status as domestic relations mediators as of December 31, 2006.
As of January 1, 2007, mediators who have
not had this training will not be able to continue mediating
cases that could involve child support issues until they complete
the training.
